It's time for Americans to stand up and speak! Don't you think it is about time President Bush calls for an emergency
session of Congress in order to solve our high gas and oil prices?
We have spent not thousands, not millions, but BILLIONS of dollars protecting foreign soils for so called stabilization of the World markets only
to be repaid with ridicule and ridiculously high gas prices. Wouldn't that money be better spent on research, development and exploitation of our
own resources in order for us to be less dependent on foreign oil? Or, Heaven forbid, give the money back to our hard working American taxpayers
to help offset the overinflated gas prices.
The average American finds it difficult now and can not continue to pay the artificially high pump prices without serious detriment to
their personal budgets. For some people it is already a choice of gas to go to work or food or medicine for their families.
Foreign countries realize the United States will be unable to meet the ever increasing demand for crude oil. The United States increases its
need for crude oil by 3% per year. Recent price increases have raised crude oil to around $60 per barrel. To add insult to injury, the kidnapping
of 6 oil workers out of the many hundreds of thousands has been stated by some analysts to be one of the contributing factors for the increasing
oil prices. How STUPID! American's have been expecting prices to decrease, but when these facts are taken into account, it becomes clear that prices
may never decrease until we force our government into action.
Something MUST be done immediately. Congress and the President need to meet until this is resolved. We don't need any more studies,
promises or false hopes. We need action and right now!!
Write and call, or even better visit, your Congress and the President. Let them know how you feel and don't take an answer like "we will look into it".
Demand action!!
